Coast Guard medevacs cruise ship crewmember to New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS (BRPROUD) — On Monday, the Coast Guard medevaced a cruise ship crewmember located 80 miles south of Grand Isle.

According to the Coast Guard, the crewmember was a 62-year-old male experiencing “stoke-like” symptoms. The ship was making its way to Houston, Texas but diverted to New Orleans ahead of Tropical Storm Nicholas.

The man was taken to University Medical Center New Orleans.
