SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) — A former business manager in Louisiana is accused of paying himself an extra $31,500 in October and December.
Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator said in a news release Friday that 54-year-old Robert Phillips Jr., of Bossier City, has been arrested on a charge of theft. He says an accountant discovered that Phillips had received five paychecks in October 2021 and eight in December.
Prator says that according to a report filed Dec. 29, 2021, Phillips left the office shortly after the accountant emailed him about the extra paychecks, and did not return.
It was not clear whether Phillips has an attorney who could speak for him.
