‘No tolerance for looters’: St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office arrest 3 looting suspects

ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) – St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office (SJSO) deputies have arrested three looting suspects.

On Aug. 30, 41-year-old Slyvia Baker and 43-year-old Shane Bake were arrested after allegedly looting Riverside Academy, according to deputies.

On Sept. 1, 28-year-old Jonathan Delanueville of Reserve was arrested after allegedly looting from a local Valero convenience store and a home.

Sheriff Mike Tregre said their law enforcement agency will have no tolerence for looters in the wake of Hurricane Ida.

“No misdemeanor summons will be issued for looting,” Sheriff Mike Tregre said. “These criminals who try to take advantage of people at a time when they are suffering tremendously will be arrested and will go to jail.”

All suspects arrested by SJSO have a bond of over $25,000.
