Louisiana State Police arrested a suspected human trafficker Wednesday after an interstate traffic stop in Port Allen.

Troopers arrested 44-year-old Ruben Guadarrama Delgado of Shafter, California after speaking to Delgado’s 22-year-old female passenger and growing suspicious that Delgado was participating in activities consistent with human trafficking, according to LSP.

LSP Special Victims Unit investigators spoke to the passenger and learned she was allegedly coerced into traveling with Delgado to engage in commercial sex trafficking.

Delgado was booked into the West Baton Rouge Parish Jail and is accused of human trafficking, false imprisonment and improper lane usage.

LSP has an online reporting system the public can use to report similar crimes. To access the form, visit http://la-safe.org/ and click the “Suspicious Activity” link.
