NEW ORLEANS (BRPROUD) – Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) closed campus at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday and announced Wednesday classes will be virtual due to Tropical Storm Nicholas.
University officials outlined the emergency preparedness plan:
- In-person classes and activities scheduled beginning at 1:30 p.m. will be conducted virtually. Online classes will remain virtual.
- Students that reside within the residential hall will be provided with pre-packaged meals, bottled water, and healthy snacks while sheltering in place.
Depending on the weather, the campus plans on reopening on Thursday, Sept. 16.
