Female with distinctive tattoo found dead near Ponchatoula identified

UPDATE:

PONCHATOULA, La. (BRPROUD) – Authorities have identified the body found in a wooded area near Ponchatoula.

The victim was identified as 14-year-old Taysia Folse, deputies say. The sheriff’s office said that the cause of death is unknown at this time.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information related to her death to contact detectives at 985-345-6150 or Crime Stoppers at 800-554-5245.

This investigation remains ongoing.

PONCHATOULA, La. (BRPROUD) – The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a dead body located near Ponchatoula on June 30.

Authorities said the identity of the woman is still unknown. The victim is five-foot-six with a “medium-large build.” The victim also has a tattoo of two jester masks with a script saying, “Smile Now Cry Later” on her left forearm.

Deputies have provided a sketch of the tattoo.
