HAMMOND, La. (BRPROUD) — Two men were arrested after a homeowner walks in to find them allegedly burglarizing his home.

Hammond police officers responded to the 200 block of College Drive at 3 p.m. on Monday, April 18 where a homeowner claims he had just arrived home after being out of town to find two men he did not know inside.

According to the Hammond Police Department, the victim told officers he asked one of the suspects, “What are you doing here?” One of the suspects allegedly replied that he was painting the house after his boss dropped off him and the second suspect.

Police said the victim told the suspects to leave and called authorities. Officers on their way to the scene saw two men fitting the description.

Dwan Harris, 29, of New Orleans and Gregory Davis, 26, of LaPlace were booked into jail. Harris faces charges of burglary, criminal damage and resisting an officer. Davis faces charges of burglary and criminal damage.
