BATON ROUGE, La. (WVLA/WGMB) — National Margarita Day is every year on Feb. 22. Millions will come together all over the world to celebrate the popular tequila drink, especially those in the Capital City. In 2020, the holiday falls on the same day as the Spanish Town parade meaning, it’s just more cause for celebration.
Blue Corn – Tequila and Tacos will offer a buy one, get one free deal. This applies to small frozen or handmade margaritas only.
Mixing in some Spanish Town tradition, The Radio Bar will have $6 pink margaritas on-the-rocks, made with strawberry and basil.
The Rum House on Perkins Road is offering $5 house margaritas, $6 fruit twist margaritas and $7 uptown girl “skinny” margaritas all day.
Sarita’s Grill & Cantina locations in Denham Springs and Maurepaus will have an all-day happy hour from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday. Whatever your preference, get a large margarita for the price of a small one. This includes house margaritas, top shelf and all flavored margaritas. House margaritas are normally $5.75 for a small and $8.75 for a large size.
Sarita’s will also have live music at both locations. In Denham Springs, Drama Kings will be performing. In Maurepaus, former Voice contestant Jenna Cornett will provide live entertainment. Call the locations for exact times.
Southern Pearl Oyster Bar has happy hour from 3-6 p.m. where their top shelf margarita, served with a Grand Marnier float, is $2 off.
From 4:30 – 6:30 p.m., Superior Grill in Mid City has happy hour where a large margarita is available for the price of a small. From 6:30 – 10 p.m., they will also have live music.
The Velvet Cactus has a free margarita card where guests get a free margarita on a subsequent visit when $12 or more is spent. Unfortunately, the card is not valid on Feb. 22, but who says National Margarita Day shouldn’t be celebrated the other 364 days of the year?
Chili’s will offer their famous Presidente margarita and the Hearts on Fire margarita all day for $5.
