BATON ROUGE, La. (WVLA/WGMB) — Girl Scout cookie season is here! Make sure to pre-order your favorite delights for 2020. Whatever your flavor may be, Thin Mints, Caramel deLites or Peanut Butter, girls across Louisiana are ready to take your order.
The Girl Scout Cookie Program teaches girls essential skills like money management, public speaking and decision making. “Girls learn about entrepreneurship as they run their own cookie businesses,” said Girl Scouts Louisiana CEO Rebecca Pennington. “The important business and financial literacy skills girls learn through the program are proven to build their leadership skills and position them for success in the future.”
Girl Scouts Louisiana East does not have the new Lemon-Up cookie this season, due to a supplier issue. The in-stock Lemonade cookie however has been described as equally delicious with a slightly tangier lemon flavor, according to Troop Leader Central.
The Lemonade is also one of five vegan options, along with Thin Mints, S’mores, Peanut Butter Patties and Thanks-A-Lot.
Looking for cookies? Ask your favorite Girl Scout representative. Girls start taking orders Jan. 10 and begin delivering cookies the week of Feb. 15.
Girl Scouts will not officially open their cookie booths until Feb. 28. Download the ‘Cookie Finder App’ in the meantime to stay up-to-date on when and where to find a neighborhood booth.
