NEW ROADS, La. (WVLA/WGMB) — The 11th Annual Spring Street Festival & Classic Car Show will welcome hundreds of antique cars and motorcycles to the city of New Roads from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 14.
Classic cars with white wall tires and shiny rims will line the street. Organizers said the cars represent a ‘good time’ and a reason for car enthusiasts to congregate. The event will take center stage on Main Street in Downtown New Roads alongside False River with more than 300 vehicles on display.
“People should prepare to see amazing vehicles,” said Main St. manager George Miller. “It brings back memories of their first vehicle and they’ll find themselves dreaming of new ones.”
Participants are expected to travel from across the country to attend the one day event. Organizers said that attendees should expect to see prize-winning cars valued at $10 million.
Awards will be presented including awards for Top 50, Top 25, mayor’s choice and 30+ sponsor awards. The event is family-friendly and outside of classic cars, there will be food, arts & crafts, and music. Nationally known disc jockey Terry Mason from “The Hot Rod Show” will broadcast live.
There will be a mega 50/50 raffle benefiting Pointe Coupee Hospice. The event is dedicated in memory of Rick Falgout, long time car show supporter.
The event is free and open to the public.
