BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – East Baton Rouge Mayor President Sharon Weston Broome is urging residents to prepare ahead of tropical storm Ida, which is expected to make a Louisiana landfall as a major hurricane over the weekend.
Sandbags are available at eight BREC locations across Baton Rouge. Residents will need to bring their own shovels. Mayor Broome is also reminding people not to forget COVID protocols while finishing storm prep; including wearing masks and maintaining a social distance.
Resident can text “RedStickReady” to (225) 243-9991 to receive updated text alerts from the city-parish for the duration of the weather event.
