PORT ALLEN, La. (BRPROUD) – English, gaming and old school cars are just some of the things that interest Port Allen High School student, Payton Bardfield.

The 11th grader is considered “an excellent role model for her fellow students.”

Those are the words of Ms. Donovan who also said that “she works hard in class and completes all her assignments without any problems.”

Payton has the distinction of being the mascot for football games as well as a member of the Esports gaming club.

School has not always been smooth sailing for Payton and her classmates as the COVID-19 pandemic has added some new challenges.

Bardfield said, “School was rough at first because of the online learning with the hybrid schedule but PAHS did a great job of handling all of the changes that were necessary during Covid.”

Teachers like Mr. Clark have helped make it easier by being easy going and flexible, according to Payton.

So what makes Mr. Clark her favorite teacher?

Payton says that “Mr. Clark is relatable and he does a great job teaching his classes which makes the subject matter easy and enjoyable.”

The 11th grader is new to Louisiana having lived most of her life on the West Coast.

Payton has lived in Oregon, California and now Port Allen.

So what about Payton’s love of old school cars?

Payton has a soft spot for the 1964 Ford Mustang.

Ms. Magee put it best when talking about this exceptional local high school student, “Payton is an absolute joy to be around!! She is a very positive student with great school spirit.”
