225GIVES: Raising money for local nonprofits in the area


Capital Area United Way

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Capital Area United Way is holding a news conference on Tuesday, November 30, where the organization “will mark the midway point of the region-wide giving day event that is being held to raise funds for over 200 nonprofits in the Capital region.”

These members of the community are expected to attend the news conference:

  • George Bell, President and CEO of Capital Area United Way
  • Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome
  • David Beach, President and CEO of the Huey and Angelina Wilson Foundation

The news conference is scheduled to take place from Noon – 12:30 p.m. at the Capital Area United Way Office.

The “press conference will highlight the community’s support as well as the sponsors who have made 225GIVES possible,” according to the Capital Area United Way.

The Capital Area United Way Office is located at 700 Laurel St.
