25 students recognized at EBRSO 45th CARTA Graduation

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – 25 students graduated from the EBRSO Capitol Area Regional Training Academy on Tuesday.

The 45th graduation saw 11 different agencies represented from throughout Louisiana.

Sheriff Sid Gautreaux spoke at the graduation.

So what are some of the things that graduates learned in the academy?

  • Law enforcement history
  • Firearms use
  • Legal and report writing
  • Officer survival techniques
  • Physical training

“It’s not just about your education, it’s about your motivation,” Sheriff Gautreaux said. “You have to have the heart of a public servant and treat people with compassion.”

Students were required to complete a 630 hour program in order to graduate.

The graduation took place at the Healing Place Church front annex building.
