29-year-old woman facing murder charge after arrest at local apartment complex

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A local woman is in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison facing these charges:

  • Second-degree murder
  • Obstruction of justice-tampering

29-year-old Andreniki Franklin, was arrested at the Mallard Crossing Apartments on Friday, May 28.

The arrest was made in connection with a recent deadly shooting involving 25-year-old Karlnita Marks, of Baldwin.

Marks passed away at a local hospital from injuries sustained in the shooting.

Investigators determined that Franklin was a suspect in this deadly shooting.

The LSP Fugitive Apprehension Unit and EBRSO Warrants Division worked together on the arrest of Franklin.
