BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Spring is blooming in the capital area— and there’s no better way to bring in the season other than attending this annual festival.
Local vendors and florists come from all over to support the efforts of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital which will help benefit cancer patients.
Amy Vandiver, Founder of the Flower Fest said they have a huge goal to reach and can’t do it without the community.
“So far, we’ve already raised $30,000 with pre-sales, which beats the first and second-year pre-sale and walk-ups. So, our goal for the whole festival is $100,000,” Vandiver said.
Attendees enjoy the colors of the season right before Easter, pedaling through various arrangements and shopping with unique vendors.
New Orleans florist, Brandi Charlot, said she has been involved with the Flower Fest for three years and she would’ve not been able to do this without the help of her floral team.
“So basically, helps us to give back and allow people to see what’s inside of our minds and allow us to be of great benefit to St. Jude,” Charlot said.
Vandiver says 20% of all proceeds will be donated directly to the cause.
