5-year-old boy helps save grandfather from drowning in pond

SLIDELL, La. (WDSU) –

A 5-year-old Slidell boy helped save his grandfather from drowning in a pond after an accident Monday night, according to the St. Tammany Parish Fire District No. 1.

According to a post on the fire district’s Facebook page, LJ saw his grandfather slip into a pond.

His grandfather’s wheelchair fell on top of him, trapping him in the water.

LJ found nearby adults to help rescue his grandfather.

The STFPD No. 1 and the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office went to LJ’s home to congratulate him on a job well done.
