54-year-old local man dies in single-vehicle crash

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – An early morning crash took the life of 54-year-old Stanley Norwood, of 10653 Tams Dr.

Norwood was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado around 4:30 a.m. on Monte Sano Ave. when the vehicle suddenly veered off the roadway.

BRPD says, “for reasons unknown, the vehicle left the roadway and collided with a chain link fence and a wooden utility pole.”

Norwood was pronounced dead at the crash scene.

The crash scene was located in the 3000 block of Monte Sano Ave.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, investigators “believe that he was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.”

The investigation into this fatal crash remains open.
