A forum gives public a chance to hear candidates


Voters will have the opportunity to hear the stances on several candidates, Tuesday, at the Ronald Reagan Newsmaker Luncheon to meet Republican candidates for BESE and local legislative races where two or more Republican candidates are seeking the seat.

Candidates confirmed to attend are Tommy Dewey from Louisiana House District 68; Michael DiResto and Barbara Reich Freiberg from House District 70; and Rep. Franklin Foil and Rep. Steve Carter from Senate District 15.

Also speaking will be two Republican candidates for the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education, Ronnie Morris and Greg Spiers.

Scott McKnight of House District 68 is unable to attend because of a prior engagement.

The event will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at Cafe Americain, 7521 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge.

The public and the media are invited. Lunch is $19.50 but is complimentary for members of the working media.
