A list of curfews in effect across Louisiana

LOUISIANA – In an effort to flatten the curve, and prevent the spread of COVID-19, many parishes throughout Louisiana are imposing curfews. Though details vary, the curfews are similar in most ways.

WGNO put together the following list of curfews happening in the state. Click the parish name to read full details on the curfew in place.

St. John the Baptist Parish

  • 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. throughout the parish until further notice.

Washington Parish

  • 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. throughout the parish until further notice.

St. James Parish

  • 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. throughout the parish until further notice.

Town of Grand Isle

  • 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew on the island
  • All vehicles will be checked at Grand Isle welcome sign/Jefferson Parish line. One ID per vehicle
  • Camp owners are allowed to enter the town however proper ID (property tax bill, utility bill or Entergy bill) is required to show proof of ownership
  • Upon entrance into Grand Isle, camp owners we are asking that you self quarantine, leaving your camp only for essentials
  • Out of town workers will need proof of employment that they are needed at work or a copy of building permit for out of town workers
  • Those who do not follow rules are subject to arrest/fines up to $500 or transported to Jefferson Parish lock up in Gretna

Plaquemines Parish

  • 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. throughout the parish until further notice.

Lafayette Parish

  • 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. throughout the parish for minors until further notice.

Iberia Parish

  • Delcambre: 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. for minors until further notice
  • Jeanerette: for minors — 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.; for adults — 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. until further notice
  • New Iberia: 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. for minors until further notice

Jeff Davis Parish

  • 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. for adults and minors until further notice.

St. Martin Parish

The curfew is in place beginning April 1st from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for all of the parish, including some of the municipalities within the parish.

Those municipalities include: Breaux Bridge, Henderson, Cecilia, Parks and St. Martinville.

Vermilion Parish

  • Abbeville: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for adults and minors until further notice
  • Gueydan: 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. for minors until further notice
  • Kaplan: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for adults and minors until April 12 or as needed.
  • Maurice: for minors — 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.; for adults — 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Rural areas of the parish: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for adults and minors until April 20

St. Landry Parish

Every day 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., effective March 24, 2020 and ending at 6 a.m. on April 13, 2020. All essential workers are exempt from this parish wide curfew while they are working and performing their duties and all essential businesses may stay open past the start of the curfew at 9 p.m.

Acadia Parish

Effective April 2, 2020, Acadia Parish will start a parish wide curfew.  The curfew will be from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. People who are traveling to and from work are asked to have identification and a letter from employers with them during the curfew hours. The letter needs to indicate the persons name and that they are employed with the business and have work hours between the curfew times, Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson said.

Evangeline Parish

Ville Platte city wide curfew: 9 p.m.-6 a.m. for adults and 8 p.m.- 6 a.m. for minors.
