THIBODAUX, La. (WDSU) —Deputies with the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a fire Sunday at the Ridgefield Animal Hospital on Percy Brown Road.

The Ridgefield Animal Hospital says “there was no fire inside, only smoke from the fireworks.”

The Schriever Volunteer Department went to work making sure damage was limited, the TPSO said.

No people were inside the building at the time, and no animals were injured.

Property damage did occur, although the TPSO did not elaborate on the extent of damage.

Deputies say the fire was caused by fireworks, and Terrebonne Parish detectives are investigating.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 985-876-2500, or Bayou Region Crimestoppers at 1-800-743-7433.
