Arrest made in deadly shooting on N Marque Ann Dr., victim is local man

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Police Department was called to the scene of a deadly shooting on Thursday morning.

An investigation ensued and 26-year-old Lvontre Humphrey, of Texas was arrested in connection with the shooting death of 25-year-old Kelvin Robinson, Jr., of Baton Rouge.

The deadly shooting took place a little after 10:15 a.m. in the 1600 block of N. Marque Ann Dr.

Robinson, Jr. was found shot in the road and died later at the scene.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, “investigators believe that a verbal altercation led to the shooting.”

Humphrey is currently in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison facing these charges:

  • Second Degree Murder
  • Illegal use of a Weapon
