Arrest made in shooting death of 38-year-old in Baton Rouge

The Louisiana State Police Task Force made an arrest Tuesday in connection with the November 9 shooting death of a Baton Rouge man.

James Whitfield, 39, of 1520 Curtis St. is facing a second degree murder charge in the death of 38-year-old Donald Joseph of 4711 Blount Road, according to Sgt. Don Coppola Jr. of the Baton Rouge Police Department Public Information Office.

Joseph was found dead with gunshot wounds in the 1500 block of Curtis Street November 9, according to Coppola.

Whitfield was booked in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
