Arson suspect arrested in connection with fire from 2019

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – 39-year-old Charlie Terrell Smith is behind bars facing charges relating to an arson fire on W. Roosevelt St.

Investigators have determined that Smith intentionally set fire to a building located at 266 W. Roosevelt St.

The arson fire happened on September 12, 2019.

The 39-year-old man was apprehended on Thursday, June 3.

Smith is facing these charges:

  • 1 Count of Aggravated Arson
  • 1 Count of Simple Criminal Damage to Property
