Arson to blame for early morning vacant house fire on Adams Ave.


BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Fire Department was called to the scene of a vacant house fire on Thursday morning.

The fire took place a little after 6:00 a.m. on 2000 Adams Ave.

“Firefighters arrived on scene to find several areas of the home on fire,” according to the Baton Rouge Fire Department.

Firefighters were able to put the fire out in ten minutes with the help of seven total units, four pumpers and one ladder.

BRPD says, “the house did have utilities and they were disconnected as a precaution.”

Fire investigators concluded that the cause of the fire was arson.

The vacant home sustained $15,000 in damages.

There were no reported injuries due to this fire.

BRPD, EMS and Entergy assisted the Baton Rouge Fire Department at the scene.
