AMELIA, La. (BRPROUD) – A recent traffic stop on U.S. 90 ended with Zavian Paul Boutte, 21, of Gonzales in custody. The traffic stop took place on Saturday, Feb. 25 after a deputy noticed “a vehicle with an equipment violation,” according to the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office.

There were three people in the vehicle including the driver, Green Blair Malik Davontae and two passengers. One of the passengers was identified as Zavian Paul Boutte and that other has not been identified at this time.

All three occupants were interviewed by the deputy and these items were seized during a search of the vehicle:

  • .45-caliber handgun
  • AR-15 rifle
  • Assorted drug paraphernalia
  • 3 grams of methamphetamine
  • 5 units of klonopin (clonazepam)
  • 7 units of hydrocodone

APSO said they seized 86.5 grams of marijuana and five units of suboxone along with what was mentioned above. Boutte was reportedly found to be in possession of “a large quantity of marijuana, methamphetamine, and suboxone,” according to the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Boutte was arrested and charged with:

  • Illegal Carrying of Weapons in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances
  • Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Klonopin (Clonazepam)
  • Possession of Hydrocodone
  • Sale, Distribution or Possession of a Legend Drug without a Prescription or Order
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Obstruction of Justice
  • Possession of Suboxone
  • Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana

Boutte remains behind bars in the Assumption Parish Detention Center on $215,000 bond.
