BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Officials with the Ascension Parish Department of Public Works and the Ascension Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness are monitoring tropical weather development in the Gulf.
DPW workers closed the gates at the Marvin Braud Pump Station and began drawing down water levels on Wednesday morning to prepare for potentially heavy upcoming rainfall, according to parish spokesman John Connelly.
Crews will also monitor the Sorrento and Henderson Bayou Pump Stations and turn those on as necessary, Connelly wrote.
