GONZALES, La. (BRPROUD) – COVID-19 strikes again! This time a local parish president is working from home while dealing with the virus.
Ascension Parish President Clint Cointment was diagnosed with COVID-19.
The good news is that the symptoms are considered mild.
“The Delta variant does not discriminate against anyone,” said President Cointment. “I hope my
diagnosis will be a wake-up call that encourages everyone to get vaccinated, as this can lessen
the severity of symptoms.”
The parish president is backing Gov. Edwards’ mask mandate.
“We have come too far, and overcome too much, to go backwards now. I’m asking everyone
to please mask up and, if you haven’t already been, get vaccinated,” said President Cointment.
Cointment has been the Ascension Parish president since January of 2020.
