Ascension Parish School Board gives updates in light of COVID-19 closures

The Ascension Parish School Board provided schedule updates following school closures caused by the COVID-19 outbreak.

School-level staff will spend Monday and Tuesday finalizing plans to deliver online instruction for students in grades 3 through 12.

Printed work packets that students did not received will be delivered or available for pickup, but students aren’t required to complete work until online classes begin. Online instruction is set to begin on Wednesday if everything goes as planned, according to APSB. Students in PreK to second grade should begin using the printed packets at that time.

APSB confirmed that it plans to begin a modified food service for students, but further details were not released.

APSB plans to uphold the previously scheduled Easter holiday, according to Superintendent David Alexander.
