Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, DEA to partner for ‘Drug Take Back Day’ on Saturday

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office and the DEA plan to host a “Drug Take Back Day” Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in which people can drop off potentially dangerous prescription drugs.

The event will be held at APSO’s District 2 substation, located at 13200 Airline Highway in Gonzales, and at the Donaldsonville City Hall, located at 609 Railroad Ave.

“We will accept tablets, capsules, patches, and other solid forms of prescription drugs or over the counter drugs,” an APSO press release reads.

APSO will not accept syringes, liquids or other types of illegal drugs.
