At Baton Rouge police graduation ceremony, new officers reminded to emphasize community policing


Struggling with a shortage of officers, the Baton Rouge Police Department is ramping up the recruitment efforts, while focusing on building bridges within the community.

The Baton Rouge Police Department’s 26 officers graduated on Monday. The new addition of officers will help a manpower shortage within the Police Department. A goal of Police Chief Murphy Paul is to reach out to the people of the community through community policing to help reduce crime within Baton Rouge.
