NEW ORLEANS, La. (WDSU) – The Audubon Zoo has debuted its newest addition, a critically endangered Sumatran orangutan infant.

The baby orangutan was born on the last day of February. Zoo officials officially debuted the orangutan on Wednesday in a ceremony.

This new arrival is the first offspring for the zoo’s 12-year-old orangutan Reese and was the result of successful breeding with Jambi, the zoo’s male orangutan.
