BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A Baker man was arrested after allegedly biting his child’s mother.
Clarence Johnson, 32, of Baker was arrested after a recent investigation by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office. The investigation centered around Johnson and an alleged victim of domestic abuse.
Johnson and the alleged victim were “in a three-year intimate relationship” and had a baby together, according to the affidavit.
The first incident allegedly took place on Monday, May 23 at the workplace of the victim. The domestic incident involved Johnson violating a protective order which was in place until February 11, 2023.
The protective order prevented Johnson from getting “within 100 yards of the victim, ordered him to stay away from the victim’s workplace and ordered him to not contact the victim by any means,” according to the affidavit.
Almost one month after this incident, EBRSO was called to a location in the 18000 block of Highland Road. Officers arrived at this location on June 20 and began to investigate an alleged incident that took place in the parking lot.
It was here that the victim claims Johnson attacked her while she was trying to change her baby’s diaper. Johnson allegedly took the car keys and cell phone which belonged to the victim.
The victim blew her horn and yelled for help at which time Johnson “bit the victim on her back while their minor child was in the vehicle,” according to the affidavit.
A member of the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office was able to take a look at the victim’s back where it appeared the victim did sustain a bite wound on her back.
The stolen items were returned and Johnson left the scene. The victim alleges that Johnson also attempted to contact her on social media and via phone.
Taking all of this into account, the Baker man was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Monday, August 1.
Johnson remains behind bars and is charged with Violation of Protective Orders, Stalking and Domestic Abuse Battery – Child Endangerment.
