Baker schools superintendent retires

BATON ROUGE, La. — (BRPROUD) The superintendent of Baker schools is retiring early.

The School Board held a special meeting Wednesday night to accept the retirement of Superintendent Herman Brister. The board also approved his request for an extended sick leave through the end of the year.

Brister was not present at the meeting. His retirement is effective December 31, but his last day at the district was Wednesday. T

The board appointed Assistant Superintendent Angela Domain as acting superintendent.
