Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre has announced its line up for the 2019-2020 season, billing it a Season of “Power and Passion”.

It all kicks off October 20th with two performances of BalletX at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at the Manship Theatre, Shaw Center for the Performing Arts. BalletX is Philadelphia’s premier contemporary ballet company, presenting works of athleticism, emotion, and grace that challenge the boundaries of classical dance with new choreography that is thoroughly entertaining and even theatrical.

The season continues December 14th & 15th with Nutcracker – A Tale from the Bayou. Directors of the fan favorite are already hard at work to find ways to make this year even more beautiful, with new stagings and better visibility for many t the Raising Cane’s River Center Arena. Performances on both days will be at 2:00 and 6:00 p.m.

BRBT will round out its season on May 1st and 2nd at the Manship Theatre with She Moves. This mixed bill promises to be a moving show. Inspired by the centennial anniversary of the Women’s Suffrage Act, BRBT has assembled classical and contemporary works that celebrate the power of women. The May 1st performance is set for 7:30 p.m. The May 2nd performance will happen at 2:00 p.m.
