Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre holds open company auditions

The Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre invites advanced dancers 13 and up with at least 2 years of pointe to audition for the 2019-20 season of “Power and Passion. 

Dancers will have ample stage opportunities as they will perform in two full mainstage performances, including The Nutcracker – A Tale from the Bayou, accompanied by the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra and a spring mixed-bill, “She Moves. . .”, with classical and contemporary choreography, inspired by the centennial anniversary of the women’s suffrage movement and reflects the power of women to change their worlds.  Dancers will also travel to participate in Regional Dance America’s SW Festival with gala performances, master classes, and seminars.  

Date:  September 7, 2019

Time:  10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Place: Dancers’ Workshop,  10745 Linkwood Ct. Baton Rouge

Audition fee:  $10

Ages: 13+   BRBT welcomes both high school, college-aged, or post-graduate dancers.

Arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the audition and please wear black leotard, pink tights, ballet slippers and pointe shoes (for ladies) and white shirt, black tights, and ballet slippers (for men).
