Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre returning to the stage after two years for ‘Nutcracker’ production

News

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRProud) The Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre’s annual holiday production, The Nutcracker – A Tale from the Bayou is finally returning to live performance after two years of not setting foot on a stage.

Due to Hurricane Ida and delayed renovations to where the show is usually held, the River Center Theatre for the Performing Arts, the Ballet will simply move the performance to the River Center Ballroom.

BRBT will again be joined by the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, so don’t miss this magical celebration of the holiday season, where you’ll be enchanted by beautiful choreography, fun magic, and new twists on many scenes.

The show will be December 18th to 19th from 2:00 and 6:00 p.m. each day in Raising Cane’s River Center Ballroom. Tickets range from $30 to $65. Tickets can be purchased at Ticketmaster, the BRBT office at 225-766-8379, or at the River Center Box Office. Officials are warning of scalpers selling tickets for twice the price so be sure to buy them from a reputable source.

The clear bag policy is in effect for anyone attending the show. The River Center will abide by all current state mandates for COVID-19 which at present includes optional masks for attendees. This is a very fluid situation and may change by the time of the performance.
