Baton Rouge boxer shot and killed after leaving night club

Baton Rouge Police identified an area boxer as the man shot and killed after leaving a nigh club early Tuesday morning.

Police say 35-year-old Justin Thomas was shot while walking to his vehicle after leaving a night club in the 4800 block of North Street.

Thomas was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

According to his profile on the website, Thomas was a super middle weight fighter who made his debut on October 27, 2012. He had 19 wins and five losses. The site lists his last fight being on June 21st.

The motive to this shooting is unknown at this time.
