Baton Rouge Fire Department responds to house fire

The Baton Rouge Fire Department responded to a house fire around 12:57 a.m. that destroyed the house.

The single-family dwelling suffered $65,000 in damages and is considered a total loss, but no residents or firefighters were injured.

Three adults and three children were able to safely exit the home, and Red Cross was notified to assist the residents.

The cause of the fire has not been determined, but foul play is not suspected.
