The Baton Rouge Fire Department responded to two house fires Tuesday, which both caused damage to the buildings but resulted in no injuries.
The first fire was at a home on Dalton Street, and the home received $25,000 worth of damage, specifically from smoke.
Three occupants were outside and safe when firefighters arrived, and BRFD determined an electrical short in the attic was to blame for the fire.
The second fire BRFD attended to was at a vacant home on N. 17th St. that received $10,000 worth of damage.
Investigators believe the fire was caused by someone trespassing in the home who was trying to keep warm, according to BRFD.
