Whether you’re traveling for the holidays or running the roads in search of last-minute Christmas gifts, the price of gas can put a dent in your wallet and cut into your holiday spending. But after rising 9 cents per gallon last week, Baton Rouge gas prices are starting to drop.
GasBuddy’s daily survey of 361 gas stations determined that Baton Rouge gas prices have fallen 3.8 cents per gallon this week, with the average cost per gallon being $2.17. That’s still 8 cents per gallon more expensive than November prices, and it’s 23.4 cents per gallon higher than this time last year.
Baton Rouge prices are still on the low end, since the national average, which dropped 3 cents in the last week, stands at $2.55 per gallon.
The lowest price in the country is $1.88 per gallon, while the most expensive rate is $4.99 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.
