Baton Rouge General is expanding its family medical services with its new clinic on O’Neal Lane.
Dr. Stephen McCulloh is leading the new clinic, Baton Rouge General Physicians – O’Neal Lane, and is offering “telehealth” visits to reduce the number of people entering the clinic, according to BRG Public Relations Specialist Katie Johnston.
While telehealth has been used to help physicians remotely determine whether a patient should be tested for COVID-19, people with chronic health conditions such as diabetes or hypertension may require a face-to-face visit. A call should be patients’ first action, though, Johnston wrote.
“The reality is that COVID-19 is not the only health issue affecting us,” McCulloh said. “People still have chronic conditions, and while we want to encourage everyone to stay at home, we don’t want you to put your health at risk by putting off your medical care.”
