Baton Rouge home deemed ‘unstable’ after early morning fire

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Fire Department reported to a 1-alarm fire at a vacant home on 241 Tilden St. early Thursday morning.

Firefighters arrived a little before 2:45 a.m. and found the structure fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters attacked the fire with eight total units, four pumpers and one ladder.

BRFD says, “after the fire was contained, the home was found to be unstable.”

The two story home sustained $155,000 in damages and is considered a total loss.

The investigation into what caused this fire is ongoing.

BRPD, EMS and Entergy assisted the Baton Rouge Fire Department at the scene.
