Baton Rouge Krewe’s react to cancelled Mardi Gras parade plans in New Orleans

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) –  In Baton Rouge, officials are looking for ways to keep the good times rolling in light of this year’s pandemic.

With an increase sin COVID-19 cases, Paul Arrigo, President and CEO of Visit Baton Rouge, says it’s too soon to tell what the 2021 carnival season will look like.

“If the Mardi Gras parades are canceled in New Orleans we might have some sort of modified Mardi Gras and might have some people coming up to Baton Rouge to celebrate,” Arrigo says.
The Baton Rouge Mayor’s office says Mardi Gras is very important to the City-Parish and they are expecting to meet with local Krewe’s Friday to discuss a possible plan.
