BATON ROUGE, La. (WVLA/WGMB) — Fans preparing for a weekend of Louisiana football can also find some fun in preparing for tailgating and watch parties.
Ronnie Coleman with the catering company Tails and Tinis stopped by the FOX 44 studio to share drink recipes for a Bloody Mary, Hot Buttered Rum and Old Fashion.
The Classic Bloody Mary mix by Collins of Chicago is made with natural ingredients, real sugar and juices. It contains no high fructose corn syrup. Simply add vodka and preferred garnishes such as lemons, limes, pickled green beans and pickled asparagus. The suggested recipe is 2 oz. of vodka to 4 oz. of mix.
In order to make the Hot Buttered Rum by Collins of Chicago, just add 2.0 tablespoons of mix, 1.5 ounces of spiced rum (such as Captain Morgan’s) and one cup of hot water. It is important that the water be hot in order to help dilute the mix.
Collins brands are available in most major retailers and neighborhood liquor or packaged goods stores. It is also available direct from Amazon for $4.98.
Coleman used the Shaker 33 which comes in unique packaging and is easy to open and leakproof. Next day shipping is available direct from the website and various styles are available, starting at $29.95.
The Old Fashion utilizes The Cocktail Box Co recipe. Inside the box, there are orange, grapefruit and aromatic bitters as well as six cubed pieces of raw cane sugar. Each box also includes a custom designed bartender’s spoon & muddler, three cocktail picks and a hand-knit cocktail napkin for spillage.
The boxes are perfectly sized to be a stocking stuffer during the holidays. They also make for great birthday gifts and are available direct from the company starting at $20.99, which includes six servings. If the sugar cubes are replenished by the owner, the company said the remaining included ingredients make 25 cocktails.
