BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported domestic incident on Monday, December 12.

A deputy arrived at a location on Myrtlewood Dr. and initiated an investigation into accusations about a victim being physically assaulted by Reginald Doucette, 30, of Baton Rouge.

The victim in this case stated that Doucette came to her home and a disagreement took place.

At some point, the Baton Rouge man allegedly produced a handgun.

“The victim advised she eventually convinced the accused to accept a ride from her back to his residence,” according to the affidavit.

The affidavit states that after arriving at Doucette’s home, the situation allegedly escalated to the point that the victim threatened to call law enforcement.

Both individuals got outside of the vehicle and that is when an alleged attack took place.

Doucette allegedly tried to steal the victim’s phone “and bit her in the middle part of her back,” according to the affidavit.

The deputy checked the victim for injuries and found broken skin.

Doucette was detained and questioned about this alleged incident.

The Baton Rouge man claimed that he changed the headlights on the victim’s vehicle earlier in the day.

The 30-year-old said that the victim is the one who took out a handgun.

The handgun was located by the responding deputy.

“When questioned about the injury to the victim’s back, the accused advised she obtained the injury during sex while denying biting the victim,” according to the affidavit.

Further investigation found that Doucette was not allowed to be in the presense of the victim due to an active restraining order

Doucette was arrested and charged with Domestic Abuse Battery and Violations Of Protective Orders.

The Baton Rouge man was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Monday, December 12.

No bond has been set for Reginald Doucette.
