BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A Baton Rouge man was arrested on his birthday after allegedly running a red light and crashing into another vehicle.

Bailey Calk, 25, of Baton Rouge, was driving a Jeep Liberty when the crash took place a little before 11 p.m., on Friday, December 2.

That is when the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office was called to Burbank Dr. and Gardere Ln.

When the deputy arrived at the scene, Calk was out of his vehicle.

Calk was hurt in the crash and required “transport to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital to be treated for his injuries,” according to the affidavit.

The deputy interviewed witnesses to the crash who happened to be in the white Lincoln SUV which was allegedly hit by Calk.

“The witnesses stated the white Lincoln had a green light, proceeded east bound on Gardere Ln, through Burbank Dr., and was hit by the Jeep,” according to the affidavit.

The deputy spoke with a passenger in the vehicle driven by Calk. The passenger confirmed that Calk had been drinking that night.

Another deputy caught up with Calk at the hospital and “detected an unknown alcoholic beverage coming from Bailey’s breath and person,” according to the affidavit.

Calk confessed to drinking “three mixed drinks and a couple beers” at a concert.

The Baton Rouge man attended the Trace Adkins concert which happened at the L’Auberge Casino.

A blood sample was obtained from Culk around one hour after the accident took place in Baton Rouge.

No Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered at the crash scene.

Calk was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on the charges listed below:

  • Operating A Vehicle While Intoxicated
  • Reckless Operation Of A Vehicle

The Baton Rouge man remains behind bars as no bond has been set as of Monday morning.
