BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A Baton Rouge man was arrested in connection with an alleged cell phone robbery which led to the death of a Colorado woman.
Charles Carr, 43, is accused of stealing Teya Turilli’s cell phone and running her over with a vehicle before leaving the crime scene.
This incident occurred on Independence Day in 2019 and Turilli remained in a coma until her death in November of 2019.
Carr is facing one count of simple robbery and one count of second-degree murder.
As of right now, the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office has not set a bond for Carr.
