Baton Rouge man arrested on firearm and drug charges

LIVINGSTON PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) – The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office was alerted to “suspicious activity at a Denham Springs hotel” on Tuesday, November 30.

Members of the LPSO Criminal Patrol Division and LPSO Narcotics Agents responded to the scene.

Sheriff Jason Ard says, ‘That suspicious activity centered around one room at the hotel located on S Range in Denham Springs.

Two arrests were made at this location including 34-year-old John Nguyen, of Baton Rouge.

Nguyen is facing the charges listed below by the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office:

During the course of the investigation, these items were seized by law enforcement:

  • Semi-Automatic handgun
  • Methamphetamine
  • Crack Cocaine
  • Heroin
  • Marijuana
  • Oxycodone
  • Clonazepam
  • Methadone
  • Digital weight scales
  • Packaging materials
  • Assorted drug paraphernalia

Nguyen is in the Livingston Parish Detention Center.

At this time, the investigation remains open.
