BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – An investigation by the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation ended with Charles Rotolo, 69, of Baton Rouge behind bars.
It all started on Friday, June 2, when a member of the investigative unit began looking into four cyber tips. Those tips “were received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children,” according to the affidavit. The investigation centered around an IP address. During the investigation, it was determined that the IP address belonged to Rotolo.
On Friday, July 7, an Xbox One gaming system was seized from Rotolo’s residence. Rotolo admitted “that he is the only person that lives at the residence and the only person who has access to his Xbox One gaming device, which is the device that was used to upload and view images and videos of child pornography,” according to the affidavit.
A subsequent search of the Xbox One gaming device uncovered “several searches for child pornography and similar terms were found in the internet history on Mr. Rotolo’s Microsoft Edge account,” according to the affidavit.
The Baton Rouge man was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Monday, Oct. 24, and charged with four counts of pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13.
As of the publishing of this article, no bond has been set for Rotolo.
